How the rating works
- 500 pts to start, for every team: a team with no matches sits at this rating, neither ahead nor behind.
- Every match moves points from the loser to the winner — a lot for an unlikely win, almost nothing for an expected one.
- The score matters too: a win without dropping a map (3-0, 2-0) moves up to 1.5 times the points of a hard-fought win (3-2, 2-1) — as much gained by the winner, as much lost by the loser. A single-map match and a forfeit count as a plain win.
- Final placement in a tournament also hands out points, more so when the field was strong. Floor at 100 pts.
